Grandpa Amu

I have a weakness.

I like to watch YouTube videos of old men and women living in mountains, villages, wilderness. Living simple lives. Making simple things. Cooking simple food.

I have watched a lot of these. From a granny in a SriLankan village, to grandpa Amu somewhere in far east, to people in Russian mountains. I have watched them all.

And I yearn to live a life like that. Away from cities, away from their concrete and their pettiness. Somewhere surrounded by nature. Where time is abundant and life is not like running on Autobahn.

But since that isn’t happening, I like to watch (obviously staged) simplicity of their lives.

On a lighter note, I would love to use a rock in the middle of the stream as my chopping board.

P.S. You can watch the video where grandpa Amu is using this chopping board below 👇
