I have a sourdough starter which is hanging around for the past four years, Alhamdulillah. There are days (or nights) when I am too tired or short on time to feed it. But then I think of all the work which has gone into sustaining it for four years, and how it all will be wasted by skipping the single feed and I find enough energy to pull down the flour jar.
Life is sometimes just like the sourdough. It takes years of hard work to build a relationship, or a habit, or a mindset. And then you skip working on it for a few days and down goes everything.
So the next time you feel lazy or tired, think about all the work and energy which is at risk of being wasted, and you may find that pulling down the flour jar wasn’t that hard or time consuming after all.
